In my last blog post, I mentioned the XRAY T2'009 is on the way. Last Friday, XRAY formally announced their new 1/10th scale electric on-road touring car on their website. I added the XRAY T2'009 to RC XRAY on Saturday and we are now accepting preorders for the T2'009.
Preorder the XRAY T2'009 Now
I had questions as soon as I read XRAY's announcement.
- How much will the T2'009 cost?
- When will the T2'009 begin shipping?
If you use the announcement and release of the XRAY T2'008 as a guide, it will likely be a couple months before XRAY starts shipping the T2'009. This will put it around the Christmas season and this makes sense too. This was Rocco's guess as well.

If you know you want a new XRAY T2'009, I recommend you reserve your kit as soon as possible. XRAY 808 owners went through this in the spring. Demand for XRAY's new 1/8th scale off-road nitro buggy was so high the XRAY manufacturing plant could not keep up. The shortage was not restricted to just the United States either. Given what happened with the 808 and the anticipated demand for the new touring car, we are accepting preorders and here is the process.
- Go to our online XRAY store and preorder the T2'009 for $50.
- We will send your order to RC America and this will place you on their backorder list, effectively putting you in line for a T2'009.
- When XRAY begins shipping the T2'009, RC America will get a large batch and they will begin shipping those kits to XRAY dealers on a first come first serve basis.
- When we receive our T2'009 shipment from RC America we will ship those kits to customers, starting with those who preordered first. If we get 15 kits, then our first 15 preorder customers will get theirs first.
- If we do not receive your kit on the first shipment, your spot in line is still reserved when the second shipment arrives. If there is a shortage, XRAY will work hard to meet the demand and you will receive your reserved kit. We saw this effort with the 808.

Email me at les@rcxray.com if you have any questions. Reserve your T2'009 now so you don't miss a big part of this racing season. One last thing, follow me on Twitter to get updates faster and if you want to read the little things that don't warrant a full blog post.
