Xtreme RC Cars Reviews XRAY 808

The August 2008 issue of Xtreme RC Cars includes a review and performance test of the XRAY 808, Team XRAY's new 1/8th scale off-road nitro buggy. I plan on posting the full review on RC XRAY, but here's the main points.

Scorecard
10.0 - Instructions
10.0 - Parts Quality/Fit
9.0 - Durability
9.0 - Tunability
9.0 - Overall Performance
9.0 - Value

Hits
- Best instructions and tuning guide in the business
- The best parts, finish, and quality around
- Base set-up hits the mark for US style tracks

Misses
- Battery case lid too close to engine, and is hard to close/access.
- Battery case is for flat pack battery. It limits your choices.
- Center chassis braces seem a little too far apart, and the center part of the chassis flexes more than I care for.

Who It's For
Anyone who loves 1/8-scale luxury and wants to go fast
I checked Xtreme RC Cars' last review for the XRAY T2'008 and the scores are very similar. There is one interesting thing to note. One score remains the same across the reviews for the XRAY 808, T2'008, XT8, M18T, NT18 and NT1. All of these XRAY RC cars received a 10 for parts quality and fit. One thing you never have to worry about with XRAY is their quality. Here's the closing commment from the 808 review.
"[The XRAY 808] has great parts finish, well thought out design, sweetly machined aluminum parts to reduce weight, and it's beautiful to look at. Couple that with the performance of this baby, and I'm sure you will have a smile from ear to ear."
