My First RC Car

I'm going to take a trip back in time to revisit my first RC car. This was about 20 years ago. My brother and I each got a Tamiya Grasshopper for Christmas. It was a great first RC car. It was durable, relatively inexpensive, easy to work on and not too fast. Only now can I appreciate the lack of speed in my first RC car. Those two Grasshoppers officially started the RC car craze in our neighborhood.

For those who want to experience it again, Tamiya re-released the Grasshopper recently due to its popularity in the 1980s. I have trouble recalling another RC car that had an actual plastic piece for a driver with helmet. It wasn't just a decal.

The Tamiya Grasshopper is what got us started and why we're launching an RC Glow Plugs store. If we're spending so much time in the RC world, we might as well make it our day job.
